VKernel Corporation, a provider of easy-to-use and quick-to-deploy virtual appliances for managing virtual server environments, today announced Alex Bakman, founder and CEO of VKernel, will be presenting a session titled "How to Implement a Cost Visibility and Chargeback Process Using the Resource Consumption Model" at VMworld 2008 on Wednesday, September 17th at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
"Many organizations recognize the need for chargeback as they virtualize their infrastructures, but they simply do not know where to start. The challenge is that in the new virtual data center where all hardware is shared, IT needs to develop new ways to report on and account for the usage of shared resources (CPU, memory, storage, network, etc.)," said Bakman. "Without cost visibility, it is impossible to put in place the financial controls necessary to implement virtualization effectively. The goal of this workshop is to walk attendees through a step-by-step approach for implementing chargeback and gaining cost visibility in as little as a day."
This session will provide a step-by-step tutorial on how to lower and control costs with intelligent planning to drive a quicker return on investment (ROI). In representing VKernel, Mr. Bakman is the only VMware Technology Alliance Partner presenting on the topic of chargeback for virtual data centers.
In addition to Mr. Bakman's presentation at the conference, VKernel will be showcasing its suite of systems management solutions for VMware ESX server environments, including its second generation Chargeback product and latestversion of its Capacity Analyzer virtual appliances, as well as a to beannounced new product introduction.
