The Virtualization Congress event has posted a partial list of the show's two day agenda. And while not completely filled out yet, you can see that the show is starting to take form. The list of speakers and topics to date are promising. If the show can maintain its promise of case studies and products in action, rather than just more powerpoint presentation and marketing speak, it should prove valuable to attendees. More and more, attendees are becoming quite savvy with their virtualization technology, and people are looking for something more than what was being presented to them 3 years ago... Not only with the type of content, but with the way it is presented as well.
Two of the more interesting things on the agenda for me will be the Startup Keynotes. Who it is has yet to be announced, but the show plans to reserve two keynote sessions for startup companies that are launching new virtualization products. The companies won't be announced until the show, but it's nice to see a virtually unknown get some air time and a spot light during a conference like this.
The other session that holds a lot of interest for me is the panel of industry leaders. If the moderator can keep control of the panel, the conversation should prove valuable. And if the moderator can't control the panel, the conversation should prove quite entertaining. The panelists come from various walks of life, some of whom I have the pleasure of being good friends with... and I always enjoy listening to these guys because they not only know what they are talking about, but they are also fair in their judgment and assessments.
When asked about the creation of the Virtualization Congress agenda, Alessandro Perilli, founder of Virtualization.info said, "Shaping the Virtualization Congress agenda is one of the most challenging tasks ever done at virtualization.info. We have to grant equal exposure to all the first-class speakers that will present on stage. We have to balance the contents in a way that every attendee will have a great show, no matter what technology he's most interested in. And we have to ignite that competition that is healthy for the customers and the entire market. I think that so far, the resulting program is matching all these goals and the event is definitively one that I’d like to attend as a delegate."

You can still register on-line until October 13, 2008.
